The Training and Resource Specialist will work in collaboration with the Senior Director to deliver training for the Diversion program and Human Trafficking. This position will provide training to law enforcement and ongoing technical assistance as assigned for successful implementation of the STAR program. This position will also provide training on Human Trafficking and screening. In addition, this position will deliver services to victims and survivors of trafficking with absolute respect and unconditional love.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Co-development of training and technical assistance materials.
- Update training materials as needed.
- Conduct trainings on diversion and screening for human trafficking with law enforcement agencies participating in the STAR program.
- Support implementation of screening tools and diversion programs within designated law enforcement agencies.
- Conduct training on human trafficking and screening tools for identification of victims.
- Ensure implemented protocols maintain fidelity to project model and best practices
- Attend meetings with stakeholders and project partners as appropriate
- Support fulfillment of grant reporting requirements
- Knowledge of purposes policies, standards and procedures involved in doing social work as it relates to homelessness, human trafficking, and other identified barriers
- Support Department of Law and Public Safety Human Trafficking operations by providing on-site outreach to victims during raids and other law enforcement operations
- Refer and connect all victims between 18-24 years old to appropriate CHNJ residential programming for emergency shelter and provision of core services.
- Provide case management to all victims of human trafficking to connect victims with core services in the appropriate geographic locations.
- Build a directory of resources in the communities where survivors are living.
- Track and manage linkages to outside referrals.
- Collect and enter data into the ETO database.
- Collect and enter data into any required performance management tools or other information systems.
- Document information regarding all client interaction, caseload progress, and outside agency contact.
- Complete all related documentation including intake, assessments and transition.
- Required to respond to the work phone daily.
- Required to read and respond to emails daily.
- Represent the agency as needed
- Participate on call on a rotating basis
- Perform other duties as assigned by the agency supervisor.
- Applicant Must be available to work Monday thru Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and a rotating on-call schedule.
Salary $ 65,000 a year.
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, public policy, or a related field required. Lived and professional experience will be considered.
- Experience working in, with, or training law enforcement preferred.
- Knowledge of human trafficking, and experience working with survivors of human trafficking preferred
- Strong skills in Canva and developing slide decks preferred
- Valid NJ Driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Must have own vehicle for transportation
- Individuals with lived experience of human trafficking and/or homelessness are strongly encouraged to apply
